Forest closure lifted – Forststeig Elbsandstein hiking route reopened

Starting from today, August 8th, the forest closure in the district of Saxon Switzerland - Eastern Ore Mountains has been lifted. This means that the Forststeig including all forest overnight accommodations (from 4 p.m.) is open again. However, there is still a very high risk of forest fires! We ask all hikers and trekkers to follow all instructions and to avoid forest fires. The fireplace at the Taubenteich may still not be used.
